Oxytocin

Oxytocin is a neurotransmitter secreted by the posterior pituitary gland which is located in the brain. It is also called the ‘happy hormone’, ‘cuddle hormone’ and ‘love hormone’ as it is responsible for the feelings of happiness and love.

It plays a major role in social bonding and is responsible for contractions during childbirth. It is secreted when we see something cute or during social interactions.

A life without Oxytocin would be completely devoid of happiness. Thanks to this one little hormone, we experience all the joy in our lives.
